(FR)Graduated as Land Surveyor and Geometrician at Professional School for Geographic Sciences in 2005, and certified CrossFit Level 1 Trainer (CF-L1) in 2014. From 2005 to 2007 worked at Santa Cruz City Hall as a Land Surveyor with responsibilities in all public constructions under that Public Institution. Since 2007 André Sotero A. Nóbrega works at Startup Madeira as a Project Assistant providing support in the operationalization of entrepreneurship, technology, Digital Transformation and innovation projects and events. During this time André has developed skills on social media and basic Graphic Design to support all ongoing projects at Startup Madeira.
(FR)Elisa Bertolotti works with storytelling, moving image and communication design. With a Ph.D and postdoc from Politecnico di Milano, Elisa is currently teaching design at the University of Madeira, Portugal. She is also co-curator of the Atlantic Wonder research program, focusing on alternative methods for learning outdoors and developing new ways to foster innovation between design and the natural sciences.
Docteur en design, ses recherches se concentrent sur l’étude des nouvelles opportunités d’autonomisation créative ouvertes par les technologies numériques, le développement de méthodes pour autonomiser les facteurs humains de la créativité dans le processus de conception. Depuis 2016, elle étudie comment les technologies numériques influencent et augmentent les dimensions cognitives, motivationnelles et sociales du processus de conception créative, en identifiant de nouveaux stimuli et des outils technologiques qui soutiennent les concepteurs et les non-les concepteurs dans l’expression de leur potentiel créatif. Dans son travail, elle fusionne une perspective centrée sur l’humain, la pensée conceptuelle et les méthodologies de co-conception pour faciliter l’innovation radicale. Elle a participé à des projets européens et nationaux, travaillant avec des entreprises concernées.
Une partie de son activité est consacrée comme un Design Thinking and Creativity coach à l’École de Design et Poli.Design de Politecnico di Milano.
Laura Anselmi, architecte et docteur, est professeure agrégée au département de design du Politecnico di Milano. Elle est la directrice scientifique
du Product Usability Lab, centre de recherche dans le domaine de l’utilisabilité et de l’expérience utilisateur, et elle collabore avec IDEActivity Centre. Ses principaux intérêts sont axés sur la valorisation d’une approche centrée sur l’humain pour développer des produits et services innovants qui favorisent le bien-être psycho-physique.
Daniela Amandolese est membre de l’équipe du projet européen Materially. Elle a développé son expertise lors de son ancienne activité en tant que responsable de la recherche sur l’innovation et de la bibliothèque de Material ConneXion Italia.
Professeure adjointe au Politecnico di Milano (cours de design industriel) ; membre de l’équipe de développement du Master TemporaryCircular Architecture IUAV de Venise pour lequel elle est professeur invité (cours Eco Materials et Trend Research).
Elle a suivi le cours d’enseignement supérieur en Design de bijoux chez Poli.design à Milan, puis elle a suivi un cours de Master en Design Industriel à l’Ecole Polytechnique (avec une thèse axée sur les outils de co-design).
Elle a ensuite collaboré pendant quelques années avec le Politecnico di Milano en tant que chercheuse dans le domaine des matériaux innovants et du transfert de technologie. Dans les mêmes années, elle a cofondé le studio Visibilio Design basé à Milan, collaborant avec des entreprises telles que Luxottica, Somfy Group, Vismaravetro.
Francesco est docteur en design industriel et professeur titulaire de design industriel au Politecnico di Milano. Il est vice-doyen de l’école de design et responsable du cours de design de produits (BA+MAs). Il est coordinateur du projet européen Horizon 2020, appelé « Crea », Réseau d’académies d’été pour l’amélioration de l’esprit d’entreprise dans les secteurs innovants. Il est directeur du Master international en stratégie de conception et innovation de système. Il est également codirecteur du Master international en design stratégique et du Master en design de mobilier du Politecnico di Milano. Fondateur et directeur de CI.Lab (un laboratoire de recherche du Politecnico axé sur les industries créatives), il fait partie du conseil d’administration d’ADI Index, l’organisation la plus importante pour évaluer le meilleur design en Italie. Président du Consortium POLI.Design, organisation à but non lucratif opérant dans la recherche appliquée et l’éducation spécialisée dans les domaines du design. Il est l’auteur de nombreuses publications internationales sur le design stratégique.
Candidat au doctorat ayant une formation en conception de systèmes de produits et services et en ingénierie de gestion. Il concentre ses recherches sur la manière dont le design, et en particulier le design stratégique et de service, peut aider les entreprises à créer de l’innovation. En même temps, il travaille dans des projets qui traitent de l’entrepreneuriat, en aidant les start-ups à combiner le binôme design et business. Actuellement, il collabore avec le département de design du Politenico di Milano où il travaille en tant que designer et chercheur impliqué dans des projets de recherche européens, mais aussi dans les cours de l’école de design.
Mattia Italia est né il y a longtemps, dans une galaxie très, très lointaine (à Syracuse en 1994). C’est de là qu’il a commencé son voyage à la découverte du design, en étudiant d’abord à Côme, puis à Milan. Il y a exploré de nombreux aspects différents, se passionnant pour les questions liées à la durabilité – tant sociale qu’environnementale. C’est pour cette raison que son attention s’est portée sur ce sujet, en le reliant au monde des matériaux. En particulier, en collaboration avec une entreprise du secteur de l’emballage, il développe de nouvelles méthodes, systèmes et processus pour sélectionner des matériaux durables et compétitifs. Les autres sujets qui l’intéressent sont les chaussures durables, la conception stratégique et les CCI.
(FR)David is a full professor in materials science and engineering and was appointed Vice President for Research and Innovation of Mines Saint-Etienne in 2015. In 2009, he launched the Industrial Design project of Mines Saint-Etienne. He initiated teaching collaborations with graduate and postgraduate Design degrees at Brunel University, London, Politecnico di Milano, Italy and Auburn University, Alabama, and a joint research program on “Materials for the creative industries” with the department CMIC “Giulio Natta” of Politecnico di Milano, which has been hosting him as visiting professor between 2013 and 2018. He co-created the multidisciplinary “Prospective Design” Master degree program with Université Jean-Monnet and Saint-Etienne School of Arts and Design. He develops research and teaching methods to stimulate the social and human factor awareness of engineering students on the one hand, and to foster the appropriation of technology by arts and design students on the other.
(FR)Educated in Romania as a computer scientist and in the UK as a design and innovation strategist, Andra has 14+ experience in the design industry, having worked across a number of design disciplines – from graphic to brand to innovation, and most recently as a digital portfolio strategist. Some of her pas work includes helping rebrand Youtube (2015-16), being part of Sodexo’s global repositioning (2014-16), assisting Wally Olins in writing his last book Brand New (2012-2014), helping set up an innovation lab in Madrid (2017-18), and teaching design innovation with LaunchBox at Mines Saint-Etienne for the past 10 years. Her work footprint spans 15 countries or so. Between 2018 and 2021 she’s been part of a small ninja team tasked with exploring what design can do for an oil & gas mammoth going through an ambitious transformation to a multi-energy company, and managing a portfolio of 50+ design-driven digital projects.
(FR)After a Master’s degree in chemical engineering in 2002, Jenny joined the National Institute of Standard and Technology (NIST, Gaithersburg MD) for two years and studied the ageing of polymer based composites. Back to France in 2005, she defended a PhD in materials science at the National Institute of Applied Science (INSA, Lyon) in 2008 on nanocomposite materials. In 2009, she was appointed as assistant professor at Mines Saint-Etienne, and associate professor in 2019. Her research focus lies at the interface between materials science and user-centered product design, covering development of new materials for the creative industries, materials perception and smart materials. She is currently in charge of the multidisciplinary “Prospective Design” Master degree program, co-operated across Mines Saint-Etienne, Jean-Monnet University and Saint-Etienne School of Arts and Design
(FR)Valentina Vezzani has got a PhD in Design, and a MSc in Service Design. She is Assistant Professor in Design at University of Madeira. Her research and teaching interests are in the field of strategic design, service design, sustainable development, social innovation and collaborative processes and tools. She is co-founder of Paco Design Collaborative and co-founder of Atlantic Wonder research project.
(FR)Shujoy Chakraborty is an Assistant Professor of Product Design at the University of Madeira (UMa), Department of Art and Design. Shujoy’s pedagogy and research intersects classical design and computational design.
His current work spans academia-industry applied research / product innovation / product experience / virtual reality (VR) / parametric design / design process models and creativity theory.
Shujoy is a faculty member of the ITI-LARSyS (Laboratory of Robotics and Engineering Systems) Research Unit from Técnico Lisboa.

(FR)Diva has a degree in Communication Culture and Organizations from the University of Madeira (2007) and an Executive MBA in International Business Management, from Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (2014). Since she finished her degree, she had been working in Project Management. She has more than 12 years of experience developing and managing projects, most of them in the fields of entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, and digital impact. In addition to these, she collaborates in the operationalization and promotion of other regional and international projects.
(FR)Frederica Gonçalves is Assistant Professor at Polytechnic of Technology and Management – University of Madeira and Senior Researcher at ITI/LARSyS, Portugal. Frederica has published peer-reviewed papers in the fields of HCI, and has participated in the program committee of international conferences, and had leading roles in the organization of international conferences, serving as program committee, associate chair, posters chair, demos chair and others. She is member of IFIP’s Human-Computer Interaction (TC13), 13.6 HWID (Human Work Interaction Design) working group, since October 2014. Currently and since 2017, she is secretary officer of the same group. Research interest lie upon HCI, Creativity, Cognitive Augmentation, Persuasive Computing, Creativity Support Tools, Human Work Interaction Design. In the area of university management, she holds positions such as Course Director of the Higher Technical Course in Information Systems Technologies and Programming, and member of the Pedagogical Council of the Polytechnic of the University of Madeira. She is also a member of the General Assembly of the Polytechnic of Technologies and Management of the University of Madeira and of the Technical-Scientific Council.

(FR)Vanda Pereira holds a PhD and BSc degree in Chemistry and is a researcher at the University of Madeira and Visiting Adjunct Professor.
She researches in the fields of Analytical Chemistry, Agrifood Science and Technology, and Circular Bioeconomy, mainly in the supervision and quality monitoring of production processes and in development of molecular sensors for the food and beverage industry.
She took part in several multidisciplinary R&D&I projects, namely involving photonics (Co-IR of AROMA project), thus fostering new synergies in favour of the development of the strategic areas of RAM. It has mainly directed her studies to the local food sector, namely through the projects IMPACT II and III, supporting local companies in the internationalization process.

(FR)Luís Ferreira, graduated in Interactive Media Design (University of Madeira) and has a Master in Entertainment Technologies (Carnegie Mellon University). In 2021, he completed his PhD in Digital Media at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FCT – UNL), where he developed a platform that makes use of music and reminiscence for cognitive stimulation purposes called Musiquence. Currently, Prof. Luís is a professor at the University of Madeira teaching interaction design, 2D animation and programing to design and engineering students. Also, Prof. Luis actively collaborates in research projects at the Neuro Rehab Lab. His role consists, above all, in designing and developing serious games while studying their impact on clinical populations (e.g., Neurological and Psychiatric).

Marita Canina est titulaire d’un doctorat en Design Industriel. Elle est professeure associée au département et à l’école de design du Politecnico di Milano, où elle est également directrice scientifique du centre IDEActivity. IDEActivity vise à donner de la valeur à tous les aspects de la créativité, à promouvoir l’innovation par le design, et à activer et renforcer toutes les phases du « processus créatif » dans un contexte donné. Depuis 2015, IDEActivity étudie l’impact de la transition numérique sur les facteurs qui favorisent ou inhibent la créativité à différentes étapes du processus de conception, expérimentant de nouvelles approches basées sur le design thinking et le co-design. Elle a été coordinatrice scientifique du Laboratoire BioDesign, incorporé en 2017 par IDEActivity. Le Lab traite des activités de R&D dans les domaines biomédicaux à travers une approche Human-Centered Design, considérant l’être humain comme point de départ des projets et utilisant les nouvelles technologies pour apporter un bien-être psycho-physique. Ses intérêts de recherche actuels sont également orientés vers le développement d’activités qui combinent la recherche en design, les études sur la créativité et une approche centrée sur les personnes pour créer des outils et des méthodes capables d’améliorer le processus de conception créative et des projets de recherche de résolution de problèmes de bioconception dans les domaines de la bio -la robotique, les appareils de rééducation, les appareils portables et les systèmes de style de vie proactifs.
